Where to eat & drink
For most eating establishments, evening meals will need to be pre-booked. Therefore, please notify the establishment you wish to dine at, before noon on the same day.
There are fast food outlets and takeaway establishments in Jamestown, a sandwich bar, Oriental restaurant, and other local restaurants to choose from.
Most of the eating places will offer at least one traditional meal and continental meals as well. Popular traditional menu dishes are St. Helena fishcakes, battered or grilled tuna, grilled wahoo steak or meat or poultry curries and pilau. Make sure to sample these!
Opening times for pubs and clubs vary. Most pubs open Mondays to Saturdays: from 11:00am - 11:00pm or after. Some pubs/clubs are also open on a Sunday, (times will vary depending on pub/club), normal hours are from noon until 2:00pm or from 5:00pm until 1:30pm. Alcoholic beverages cannot be consumed on the streets of Jamestown.
