7 Wonders of St Helena
The "7 Wonders of St Helena" forms a part of the ‘Proud of St Helena' campaign.
7 Wonders of St Helena allowed St Helenians everywhere (and lovers of St Helena) the chance to nominate their favourite iconic / historic / scenic / built "place of wonder" that would symbolically represent St Helena in future tourism promotion.
Over the past few months we asked the public to take pride in their island by nominating and voting for such places.
A total of 60 nominations were suggested during the first round of the campaign. Week by week we saw places shuffle back and forth fighting for top places as people continued to vote.
First round nominations closed on Friday 8th August, short listing the 60 nominations with the most votes down to the top 15 finalists.
Six weeks of voting commenced to establish the final 7 wonders of St Helena from 8th August to the 18th September and the announcement was made live on Saint FM by Miss St Helena, Nicole Peters and Director of Tourism, Pamela Young.
