Tour Information

Travel back in time with "Robert’s History On Wheels Tour".

Highlights of the tour  includes stories on the SS Papanui, RAF Darkdale, Dinizulu, Edmund Halley, the local flax industry and the Boer Prisoners or war camp.

Choose from 4 tour routes which collectively visit a plethora of landmarks including the infamous Napoleonic sites (entry optional), Plantation House, home to the worlds oldest terrestrial land animal and former Boer prison of War camp and burial sites.

Tour A

The tour starts at the Consulate Hotel moving onto the Briars, Longwood House, Napoleon's Tomb, Stitches Ridge, Cliffords Arboretum, Plantation House, ladder Hill and return to Jamestown.

Tour B

The tour starts from the Consulate Hotel onto the Millennium Forest; Deadwood Plain, site of the Wirebird habitat; Halley's Mount; Dungeon graveyard; Boer Graves, through the coffee grounds at Rosemary Plain, New Ground and return to Jamestown.

Tour C 

A tour to Sandy Bay beach, and then on to the West side of the Island, West Lodge and Horse Pasture picnic ground.

Tour D

Walking Tours.  Visitors can be transported to the location of their chosen walk and collected at the end of the walk.
